What do I need to get started?

Merchant signup is currently open in the United States. Create your account on the Pat website, verify your details, connect an eligible business bank account and finish payment activation. Then sign in to the iPhone app. Device and account eligibility apply.

Do I need a separate card reader?

No separate reader is needed. In-person payments depend on your device, location and account eligibility, so check payment readiness in Pat before your first sale.

Do I need a website or a technical team?

No. Your customer pays on a secure Pat-hosted page. You don’t need to build a website or write code.

Can someone pay me when we’re not together?

Yes. Pat lets you get paid when your customer is somewhere else. Eligibility and payment terms apply.

Can I use Pat with my existing website?

Yes. Link your website to a secure Pat-hosted payment page. This is not a built-in checkout integration. A public API for custom integrations isn’t available yet.

How do I receive my money?

Connect an eligible business bank account during setup. Once funds are available, your account’s payout options let you move money to your bank. Availability and arrival times depend on verification, account status and payment terms. Instant arrival isn’t guaranteed.

What if I’m just starting out?

Pat is for first-time sellers too. Whether you’re selling a product, offering a service or taking your first customer, you can set up a business account and follow your sales without building a website. U.S. signup is open; verification and payment activation are required before you sell through Pat.

What if I already run a business?

Bring Pat into the business you already have. Use the app with customers and the dashboard to follow sales, find receipts, manage team access and request payouts of available funds. Keep selling the way you already do.

Does Pat register my business for me?

No. Pat gives you tools to make sales and manage their records, receipts and available funds. You’re responsible for any business registration, licences and tax obligations that apply to your business.
