An idea A customer Your first sale
Start with what you can offer, decide who it helps and plan your price. Learn how Pat fits when it’s time to get paid.

A skill you want to turn into a business. Something you make that someone wants. A shop you’ve run for years. We believe anyone, anywhere should have the chance to build a business. Start with an offer and a customer, then work out how to get paid.
Create your business account on the website, complete verification and payment activation, then sign in to Pat. Accept payments, keep receipts and follow your sales. Pat does not legally form a business or automatically create a storefront for you.
How do I turn an idea into a first sale?
Choose one thing you can offer and describe who it helps. It might be a product, a service or something you already know how to make. You do not need to have every future step figured out to start planning.
Work out the time, materials and other costs involved, then choose a price. Talk to potential customers, learn what they need and agree on what you will deliver. Check the registration, licensing and tax requirements that apply where you operate before selling.
When a customer is ready, accept payment through your verified, activated business account. These guides are open to read wherever you are; Pat signup is currently limited to U.S. businesses.
How does Pat fit into my everyday business?
Use Pat to make a sale, confirm its payment status and keep the receipt. Your dashboard brings your sales, team access and available funds together.
If you work with others, manage team access through your business account. When funds are available, request a payout to your eligible bank. Pat does not register your business or replace your accounting, licensing or other legal responsibilities.
Where do I start?
Start with merchant signup on the Pat website. Use the account email you want to keep for your business login. Merchant signup is currently open for businesses based in the United States; browsing another country's guide does not make that country available.
Have your business information ready and give accurate answers during setup. Choose the business's real country and identity. A different selection is not a workaround for unsupported availability.
What happens after I create an account?
Complete the business and identity steps presented on the website. Payment-account verification and activation are separate from your Pat login. A working password, an account confirmation, or an app installation is not proof that you can accept payments.
Read any outstanding setup requirements and respond through the secure flow. If a review is pending, allow it to complete rather than creating a second account to bypass the review. Support can help you understand a requirement, but cannot promise that every business will be approved.
When should I download the iPhone app?
Finish the website's setup and activation steps first, then sign in to the Pat iPhone app using the same merchant account. Check payment readiness in your account before accepting your first payment.
Do not create a new business identity just because you moved from the website to the phone. If you cannot find the business you set up, check the account you signed in with before adding another business.
How do I choose a payment method?
Use the payment options available to your business account. Confirm the amount with your customer and wait for a confirmed result before marking an order as paid.
These are different ways to reach the payment flow, not promises that every card, wallet, country, or transaction will be accepted. The options shown to a customer depend on the enabled methods and the customer's browser and device.
What makes the first sale complete?
Review the requested amount and currency before the customer pays. Afterward, check the merchant's payment record for the completed result. A customer showing you a scan, a sent message, or an unfinished checkout page is not a payment confirmation.
Keep the order and payment records together so you can identify the sale later. Then review payout setup separately: a successful payment does not mean the funds have already arrived at your bank.
Your business Your next step
Wherever you are, take one step toward the business you want to build. Put what you’ve learned into your offer, your price or your next customer conversation. Pat signup is currently open to U.S. businesses; verification and activation are required.
