Starting a business or choosing tools for the one you already run? Check whether your business can use Pat before making plans. The country directory is not a list of customer destinations, a promise of expansion or a way to register a business in another country.

At present, United States merchant signup is open. The other country pages explain that setup is not yet available there. This guide helps you read those pages and plan without assuming a launch date.

What does signup open mean?

It means a business based in the listed country can begin the merchant application. It does not mean every applicant is approved or every payment feature is automatically activated. Business verification, account eligibility, and feature-specific requirements still apply.

Some payment features also have device and location requirements. Your device cannot override the account's country or verification status.

Why does Pat have guides for unavailable countries?

The guides give a clear answer to businesses researching Pat. They explain the current status and point to support rather than pretending that a country flag or a translated page is evidence of availability.

A landscape image, currency reference, or country page should not be read as a promise of local processing, domestic QR networks, local bank payouts, or a scheduled launch. Check the explicit availability message on the page.

Can I choose a different country to sign up?

Use the real country and legal information for the business you are registering. Do not select the United States just to get past an unavailable-country message. Account setup and verification rely on accurate information.

If your business situation involves more than one country, ask support about the specific legal business you want to register. Do not assume that having customers, a bank account, or a mailing address in a country resolves merchant eligibility.

Does merchant availability determine where customers can be?

Merchant registration and customer payment acceptance are different questions. The country directory tells a business whether it can start Pat setup. It is not a complete list of every issuer, card, browser, or customer location accepted by a particular payment flow.

For a specific sale, rely on the enabled checkout methods and the payment result. Do not promise that a foreign card will work, or refuse it solely because the merchant directory describes a different registration question.

How can I ask about a country that is not available?

Open the country's guide, confirm its current message, and contact Pat through the support or contact page. Explain the business's country and what payment method you need. That gives the team more useful context than simply asking whether an app can be downloaded.

Until an official availability message changes, plan around the current status. Do not collect orders on the assumption that signup or payment activation will become available by a particular date.
